Tragedy Strikes a Family in Richmond Hill

The NYPD has opened an investigation following the death of a 5-year-old girl in Queens on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred at the girl's home near 110th Street and 95th Avenue in the Richmond Hill neighborhood. Kuldeep Singh, 36, the girl's father, expressed grief and confusion as he searched for answers outside the residence on Thursday morning.

Emergency Response and Hospitalization

According to police, the child's mother called 911 from the Richmond Hill address just before 7 p.m. Officers who responded found Fabiana Ismeralda Cabello Singh, known as “Fabi,” unconscious and unresponsive. She had blood coming from her nose and mouth and visible bruising on her temple, as reported by police sources. Officers transported her to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition. Sadly, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Family Seeks Answers Amid Grief

Kuldeep Singh shared his devastation, stating he learned about his daughter's condition from her grandmother. Despite rushing to Jamaica Hospital, Singh was unable to see his daughter. Recalling memories, he spoke affectionately about their bond, describing recent moments they shared, including dining together just two weeks prior. He noted that Fabi's mother was loving and actively involved in their daughter's life, sharing text messages about school preparations and her daughter's requests for new school supplies.

Police Inquiry and Investigation Details

Following the child’s death, the girl's mother was taken to the local precinct for questioning. The NYPD did not immediately rule the child's death suspicious and made no arrests at this stage. According to officials, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an examination to determine the official cause of death. Authorities are also inquiring if there have been any prior domestic incidents reported at the home.

The two-story Richmond Hill home remained cordoned off with crime scene tape as police officers moved in and out of the residence early Thursday.
