Violent Queens Home Invasion Leaves Victim Injured

A Flushing, Queens resident was beaten with a crowbar and robbed of valuable jewelry in the early hours of Sunday, October 11, 2026, during a violent home invasion. The New York Police Department responded to the scene on Horace Harding Expressway after receiving reports of the incident.

Details of the Incident

The victim, who wished to be identified only as Chris, told Eyewitness News he was inside his home with a friend when they heard a noise at the front door around 2:30 a.m. As soon as Chris investigated, a group of armed suspects forced their way in, holding him at gunpoint and launching a brutal attack.

"At some point I decided to play dead," Chris recalled. The assailants beat him and restrained him with zip ties, binding his hands and feet before covering his face with his own coat. During the confrontation, Chris was struck in the face with a crowbar and robbed of thousands of dollars' worth of jewelry, including a chain he estimated to be worth $65,000 and a Rolex watch.

Suspects and Police Response

Chris reported seeing four men entering the home, all wearing masks. According to authorities, three of the suspects fled the scene on foot. Police apprehended a 17-year-old suspect at the location and removed a face covering. Chris said he did not recognize the individual in custody.

A police officer was seen carrying what appeared to be a crowbar during the investigation. The NYPD has not released additional details regarding the other suspects, and the search continues.

Victim Recalls Ordeal

Chris emphasized the rapid escalation of events during the home invasion, stating, "You see people in masks in your house there's really no conversation, just started scrapping immediately." He also credited his friend, who was upstairs at the time of the break-in, for her quick thinking. She hid in a corner and called police, a move Chris said "saved my life."

Possible Set-Up Suspected

Chris believes the home invasion robbery may have been a set-up, commenting, "Somebody definitely set me up, 100 percent." He revealed plans to sell his house and leave the area, saying, "The house is going up for sale tomorrow. You're out? I'm out of here."

The victim also shared background regarding his legal status. Chris is currently on probation for a DWI conviction and is involved in a legal dispute with his ex-girlfriend, with orders of protection in place for both parties.

Aftermath and Ongoing Investigation

Due to his probation, Chris noted he is not permitted to own a firearm. He told Eyewitness News the outcome might have been different had he been able to protect himself.

The NYPD continues to investigate the violent home invasion and is seeking the remaining suspects. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
